Many patients consult at our center because of resistant warts (to chemical treatments, liquid nitrogen application). The chief complaints are aesthetic, or in some cases pain, such as in plantar warts.
CO2 laser is very efficient in the treatment of resistant warts. After administering a local anaesthtic (lidocaine), the laser treatment is applied to the wart. The heat delivered by the laser will destroy the wart. We will soon acquire the Nd-YAG laser which is an alternative to CO2 laser for wart treatment.
The aftercare following the procedure is small (regular disinfection, and a preventive antibiotic cream for plantar warts in order to prevent possible infection).
